About Dignity For Life (DFL)

Vision Statement

We envision a society where every individual lives with dignity, enjoys the respect they deserve, and thrives in an environment of opportunity, equity, and wellbeing.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to contribute to the economic empowerment of women and youth in Ethiopia and to foster peaceful coexistence among communities. We support locally driven initiatives that promote inclusive development, social cohesion, and improved quality of life for all.

Core Values

We Care for Everyone

Compassion and empathy for all people.

We design inclusive programs that prioritize the most vulnerable. Our teams are trained in trauma-informed approaches, and we create safe spaces where people feel seen, heard, and valued.

We Honor Humankind

We celebrate diversity and uphold human rights.

We embed human rights principles into all our interventions. We engage communities with respect, listen deeply to their stories, and co-create solutions that reflect their values and aspirations.

We Are Partners

We build lasting relationships through collaboration.

We foster collaborative planning, share power, and build local capacity. Our partners are not just beneficiaries but co-owners of the change process.

We Uphold Justice

We fight inequality and promote fairness.

We advocate for systemic change, support community-led initiatives, and ensure our programs do not reinforce harmful power dynamics.

We Embrace Integrity

We act with honesty and ethical principles.

We establish clear codes of conduct, encourage whistleblowing, and hold ourselves accountable through regular audits and evaluations.

We Cultivate Hope

We inspire belief in a better future.

We highlight stories of resilience, celebrate small wins, and create pathways for people to envision and pursue a dignified life.

We Are Stewards

We nurture resources with integrity and accountability.

We believe that true leadership is rooted in accountability, transparency, and a deep sense of responsibility toward the people and communities we serve. We ensure stewardship by practicing ethical decision-making, maintaining financial integrity, and being transparent in our operations.
